Minji (NewJeans) Before debut
Minji was born in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, in northeastern South Korea, and attended Mancheon Elementary School. After that, she enrolled in Gangwon Junior High School.
She had attended music school as a guitar student. Before she entered eighth grade, she auditioned openly for Source Music on the recommendation of her music school and passed.
She transferred to Sinsa Middle School to live a full-fledged trainee life.
